Alex (Dr. L, as you can call him) is a professor of history and American Studies at IU, where he has taught since 2011. Although trained as a historian of the United States, he still has traveled all over the world for his work. He has visited and lectured in Brazil, Canada, and Mexico; England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, and Serbia; Israel and Turkey; China; Australia; Mozambique and South Africa (the subject of his current research). He loves learning about new places, exploring global cities, trying new foods, listening to world music and jazz, and meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. He welcomes both new and returning students to the Global Living-Learning Community, and looks forward to getting to know the members of the LLC.
